When Main Down Go Beta

A tip from Kristian / Professor Tenk plucked from the SLED listserv...
Just a reminder, since I know many doesn't know this - per usual during updates on the main grid, the Beta Grid is usually up and available. You have to download the Beta Viewer (current one is named Aditi), and install it the same way as the regular client.

Just keep this in mind:
- Logging in can be slow and even fail, especially during the first hour of main grid downtime.
- Expect to just stay put for the first five minutes after login before moving or trying to teleport.
- The Beta grid is usually using an aged database snapshot from the main grid which means that:
- If your avatar is newly created, it might not be available for Beta login
- Recent items you have acquired/created might not be in your beta grid inventory
Since the beta grid has a number of public sand boxes and also a significant mass of developed land reflecting most location types that you can find on the main grid, it can be quite sufficient for a general SL demonstration as an alternative to the main grid.
