[11:44] Anne Clellon: Yes, stumbling! :)

[11:44] Dan Undertone: We are going to play games and between each game take some time to talk about discoveries, challenges and anything else that came up.

[11:44] Haven Colville: Surley some one else is coming up?

[11:44] Dan Undertone: First game is simply is... FOLLOW THE LEADER

[11:44] Anne Clellon: Come on!

[11:44] Dan Undertone: Come up if you'd like to play

[11:45] Dan Undertone: I will designate someone as leader and everyone will simply follow that person.

[11:45] Dan Undertone: I will say SWITCH and the person in front will go to the back of the line and the next person in line will lead.

[11:45] Haven Colville: cool

[11:45] CDB Barkley: yikes

[11:45] Anne Clellon: Okay!

[11:51] Li Xi: Is Anne leading? I'm confused

[11:51] Anne Clellon: I think that's a great idea. AM I leading?

[11:51] Walter Witte: the hegemony is breaking down!!!

[11:51] Walter Witte: run for your lives

[11:51] Anne Clellon: Alright!

[11:52] Dan Undertone: Take it slow

[11:53] Dan Undertone: Switch very slowly

[11:53] Anne Clellon: I forget to look at the chat......oops!

[11:53] Haven Colville: cool

[11:53] Haven Colville: FOLLOW ME

[11:54] CDB Barkley: whew

[11:55] Dan Undertone: What were the challenges in teh game?

[11:55] Li Xi: OK. I get the slapstick award, right?

[11:55] Walter Witte: lag!

[11:55] Haven Colville: Theres something floating on stage here, very annoying

[11:55] CDB Barkley: movement is awakrd

[11:55] CDB Barkley: imprecise

[11:55] CDB Barkley: Hard to watch and move at same time

[11:55] Walter Witte: fits and starts -

[11:55] Walter Witte: impossible to be natural

[11:56] CDB Barkley: bumping

[11:56] Haven Colville: everyone has differnt lag experiences

[11:56] Dan Undertone: was it easier when you went very slowly

[11:57] Anne Clellon: Yes, slow and simple was easier for sure.

[11:57] Haven Colville: yes but more bumps

[11:57] Li Xi: Slower was easier, yes

[11:57] Dan Undertone: Are there other tactics you could try?

[11:58] Li Xi: Having a pattern to follow might help

[11:58] Haven Colville: hmmm we could give defined space between each other

[11:58] Li Xi: tow bars?

[11:58] Dan Undertone: Do you want to try working out a pattern and/or spacing

[11:59] Anne Clellon: Yes, let's give it a whirl.

[11:59] Haven Colville: pattern

[11:59] CDB Barkley: ok

[11:59] Dan Undertone: Ok

[11:59] Dan Undertone: would announcing your move first work?

[11:59] Dan Undertone: ex 2 steps forward

[11:59] CDB Barkley: hard to type and walk

[12:00] Anne Clellon: I agree...

[12:00] Dan Undertone: type then walk

[12:00] Ninmah Ash is Offline

[12:00] Dan Undertone: or type then move

[12:00] Haven Colville: Say we follow a defined pattern to be announced before we move, like figure of eight?

[12:00] Anne Clellon: Right, if we tried it in separate steps, it might work.

[12:00] Dan Undertone: Sure go for it

[12:00] Dagmar Kojishi: Would mouseview be any easier? Harder?

[12:01] Dan Undertone: try the figure eight idea

[12:01] Dan Undertone: go ahead haven

[12:01] Anne Clellon: ooooooh!

[12:01] Li Xi: I tried mouseview and found it easier to see all from a distance

[12:01] Haven Colville: OK Figure of eight guys

[12:02] Haven Colville: not bad :)

[12:02] Li Xi: Yes!

[12:02] Anne Clellon: hey hey!

[12:02] CDB Barkley: 8

[12:02] CDB Barkley: 8

[12:02] Dan Undertone: someone else take the lead and announce a move/pattern

[12:03] Dan Undertone: CONGRATS!!

[12:03] Haven Colville: ok im doing 1 step forward and then readjust direction if that helps?

[12:03] Dan Undertone: the 8 works

[12:03] CDB Barkley: Same pattern?

[12:03] Li Xi: ok

[12:03] Dan Undertone: Whaterver you'd like

[12:03] CDB Barkley: ok, a wider 8

[12:04] Dan Undertone: HOw was that?

[12:04] Haven Colville: easier

[12:04] Anne Clellon: Is there a way to adjust how many steps are taken with one mover forward?

[12:04] Dan Undertone: You alll seem to be getting it together

[12:05] CDB Barkley: Do we have different step sizes?

[12:05] Haven Colville: Yay Westend here we come :)

[12:05] Dan Undertone: Could be because you're different heights

[12:05] Dan Undertone: try again - new pattern

[12:05] Delia Lake is Online

[12:05] Dan Undertone: go for it Walter

[12:19] Walter Witte: i guess we're supposed to move opposite to you

[12:19] Dan Undertone: Stop for a moment

[12:20] Li Xi: Hmm. I would think Mirror would mean you'd follow the same direction.

[12:20] Dan Undertone: HOw is it going

[12:20] CDB Barkley: We dont have the same actions

[12:20] Anne Clellon: We dont all have the same gestures available

[12:20] Haven Colville: well i was following a symmetrical mirroe

[12:20] Dan Undertone: Ok try very subtle movements

[12:20] Dan Undertone: just move yoru head

[12:20] Anne Clellon: But the ones we did have were pretty funny

[12:20] Anne Clellon: qua?

[12:21] CDB Barkley: head follow the mouse

[12:21] Anne Clellon: ooooh

[12:21] Dan Undertone: try just imitating head movements

[12:21] CDB Barkley: look up

[12:21] Dan Undertone: you can move your head with the mouse

[12:21] Haven Colville: hmmm trouble is u cant see what the others are doing

[12:21] Dan Undertone: ok

[12:22] Dan Undertone: what if you use mouselook?

[12:22] Anne Clellon: And I can't hold my head in one position. It moves on its own

[12:22] Dagmar Kojishi: You can alt-focus on the other person, I think.

[12:22] Haven Colville: as soon as i look up i loose LI Xi

[12:22] Dan Undertone: We had a suggestion to use alt focus

[12:23] Anne Clellon: How does one do that?

[12:23] Dan Undertone: do you want to talk us through that

[12:23] Dagmar Kojishi: Hold down the Alt key. Your cursor changes to a plus sign. Whatever you click on, you focus on. You can move your mouse back and forth to get closer or further away.

[12:23] CDB Barkley: option on a mac

[12:23] Dagmar Kojishi: Holding Ctrl at the same time will allow you to change the angle of elevation.

[12:24] Walter Witte: but when you move, focus returns to you

[12:24] Dan Undertone: lets try it

[12:24] Dagmar Kojishi: True. Hmmm.

[12:24] Anne Clellon: ooooooay....

[12:24] Dan Undertone: that's hard

[12:24] Lycan Demar is Online

[12:24] Dan Undertone: Let's wrap on this one and debrief

[12:24] CDB Barkley: If you alt-focus on an av, and he/she moves, it will follow...

[12:24] Haven Colville: CTRL mouse works well

[12:25] Haven Colville: ALT mouse sorry

[12:25] Anne Clellon: ALT mouse is the grooviest

[12:25] Li Xi: I see. By clicking on various things, I can move my head toward it. If I don't move too far, I can still see Haven all the while.

[12:25] CDB Barkley: Useful for taking photos

[12:25] Dagmar Kojishi: It's a good way to stay focused on someone who is moving, but I don't know what it does to the avie's own head.

[12:25] Anne Clellon: am I nodding?

[12:26] Dagmar Kojishi: Yes, you are.

[12:26] CDB Barkley: yes

[12:26] Dan Undertone: Did you all find that alt mouse helped

[12:26] Anne Clellon: cool. Then where my focus is, also turns my head.

[12:26] Haven Colville: li xi who am i looking at?

[12:26] Li Xi: dan

[12:26] Haven Colville: cool

[12:26] Haven Colville: now

[12:26] Li Xi: anne

[12:26] Haven Colville: now

[12:26] Dagmar Kojishi: I think it's a way to simulate eye contact as well, if you focus on each other.

[12:27] Li Xi: me

[12:27] Haven Colville: wow ALT mouse works well for head

[12:27] Anne Clellon: yea, I agree!

[12:27] Li Xi: click on the ground by your feet and you can look down, too

[12:27] Dan Undertone: That's good to know

[12:28] Walter Witte: just like my classes. everyone staring at the floor

[12:28] Dagmar Kojishi: LOL

[12:28] Anne Clellon: hahahaha!

[12:28] Li Xi: It looks like our audience has nodded off

[12:28] Dan Undertone: that sounds good

[12:28] Dagmar Kojishi: Not all! :)

[12:28] Haven Colville: we are that exciting

[12:28] Dan Undertone: it's called MAchine

[12:29] Haven Colville: to be or not to be that is the question?

[12:29] Dan Undertone: One person will take stage and do a repetitive motion.

[12:29] Dan Undertone: Observe the person and when you feel like it, go up on stage and do a complementary motion - something that fits in with the other players motion.

[12:29] Li Xi: neet

[12:29] Dan Undertone: also a repeated movement

[12:29] CDB Barkley: !

[12:30] Dan Undertone: In the end we will have a motion machine with a number of movements that are related.

[12:30] CDB Barkley: last man standing

[12:30] Walter Witte: how about this?

[12:30] Dan Undertone: that's good

[12:31] Li Xi: How's he doing that?

[12:32] Dan Undertone: Ok see if you can slow down

[12:32] Lycan Demar is Offline

[12:32] Dan Undertone: now speed up

[12:33] Dan Undertone: So fast now that you explode!

[12:33] Dan Undertone: however you want to explode

[12:33] CDB Barkley: barf
