Campus in Press

The NMC Campus has gotten some nice recognition in the last few days. A little pat on the back never hurts!
Slate Magazine (Second Life Arts Total Entertainment) has a very nice feature article, lavishly illustrated, New Learning Spaces: New Media Consortium Campus:
A teleport to the Huntley Ballrooms reveals a poster exhibit from the real life 2006 NMC Summer Conference that took place in Ohio. Just click on a poster and a note card will appear with the author’s name and poster abstract. There is even a corkboard with pictures from the event, bringing a bit of real life into Second Life.
In addition to posters and photographs, the campus is filled with beautiful pieces of art. A short walk away from the Huntley Ballroom, you can find beautiful sculptures in the Spohrer Center. Each sculpture is provided with its own spotlight and nearby chairs allow you to rest comfortably while enjoying the view. Additional sculptures are also located in the Perez-Greene Plaza.
And this article is written by someone familiar with NMC Campus– Danielle Damone– who has recently joined the NMC Campus Observer as a guest author.
And in movie news our video NMC Campus: Seriously Engaing, directed by Pierce Portocarrero, was recognized for Best Cinematography at the Alt-Zoom June Take 5 Film Festival. Is there a small gold statue waiting out there?
