The Unrendered is an art installation created by Failed Inventor.  Failed describes his creation as a "glimpse into  unrendered heaven..holding creations and shapes untainted by color".   Please join us for the opening of this exhibit on April 19th at 6pm slt, or stop by at your liesure, the installation will be up for one month. "Orfeo's Oratorio" Date:  Sunday the 20th, September Time:  1 pm slt Location:  Ars Simulacra on the NMC Campus An Immersive Installation by Alizarin Goldflake The germ of the idea for Orfeo came into existence in 2001 when I was playing around with my digital drawing "The Very Rich Hours" ("Pink Colonade" in RL;  please see www.marthavista.com).  The drawing was done with Corel Painter and a Wacom digitizing tablet, and it  is 4520 x 6770 pixels. What is a Flickr Gettr you ask? Upcoming Exhibits at the Aho Museum & Ars Simulacra on the NMC Campus

These exhibits open at 3:30 p.m. slt on Sunday December the 28th.  At 3:30 we will congregate at the sim of Ars Simulacra and tour the exhibit created by Glyph Graves.   Glyph's pieces are colorful, organic, generally kinetic, sometimes reactive pieces of virtual art and prim manipulation.  Light and color permeates each piece in such a way that you may be mesmerized for hours as they transform shapes and hues.  Glyph has created sculpture and art which responds to  Second Life ... more » »

Research Presentation: Dr. Tom Boellstorff, author of “Coming of Age in Second Life”

posted by Bob Vernon (Dr. Robert (Bob) Vernon is professor of social work at the Indiana University School of Social Work. He is currently exploring the virtual world of "Second Life" for online teaching and research. This includes research "inworld" on how "Second Life" may help people with disabilities. His avatar is "Gabrielli Rossini" and he manages the group "Social Work Educators of SL.") at December 6th, 2008

The Virtual Ability Research Group will be hosting a presentation by Dr. Tom Boellstorff, the author of “Coming of Age in Second Life.” Tom is associate professor of anthropology at the University of California Irvine, and has done extensive research in SL culture.
