You are invited to join us on the University of Delaware’s Second Life islands for a new fall series called National Agenda.
The series is a live simulcast of the campus event and will feature both national speakers and local UD faculty during the entire fall term.
We will be taking questions from our SL audience.
Please join us Wednesday, September 8, 2010 – 4:30pm SLT
For our first speaker, faculty member Jennifer Lambe, with Corporate Funding of Independent Political Broadcast.
Jennifer will be speaking about the recent Citizens United Court Decision that ruled that corporate funding of independent political broadcasts in candidate elections cannot be limited under the First Amendment. She is an affiliated faculty member of the University of Delaware’s Center for Political Communication and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication. Her research interests lie at the intersection between media ethics, freedom of expression, and media effects. She is particularly interested in exploring non-governmental sources of media accountability, and understanding public opinion about these issues.
Faculty Speaker Program is part of the National Agenda series and hosted by: Elizabeth M. Perse, Professor and Chair, Department of Communication, University of Delaware
