There are currently 7,000 people in Dallas, Texas attending the 2006 National Educause conference (I happen to be one of them). As I prepare to bring students into the Second Life space I am always on the lookout for a few goodies that I can share. Since new accounts do not receive an allowance without a credit card verificiation, many users new to Second Life are broke, left to seek out freebies. I love providing them with a few nice items; a sail boat, BMW, magic carpet, clothes, etc. (if only it were that easy in RL *smile*). John Bransford, James W. Mifflin University Professor of Education and Psychology at the University of Washington in Seattle, is well known for his contributions in the field of technology and education including co-chairing the committee responsible for the series of books “How People Learnâ€. His current role at the University of Washington includes being the Principle Investigator and Director of the NSF funded Center for Learning in Informal and Formal Environments (LIFE).
