She works tirelessly in virtual world design and development to further virtual worlds for education. She has designed content for emerging media degrees, and is an extremely active member in the NMC. Her doctoral research focused on building an immersive, PC-based virtual reality system and designing a new user interface for it. As a teacher of classes on software engineering, futuring and innovation, robotics and game design using Second Life as a prototyping environment, she is second to none.
This has been certainly true here at NMC Campus, where Lyr Lobo / Cynthia Calongne has been an active particiant since we opened, and has presented at just about all of our in world Virtual Symposia since 2006.
I can’t think of someone more deserving of this award!
