NMC Campus Teachers Buzz: Museum of Music & Bucky Barkley’s Tools &
CDB Barkley (aka Alan Levine) : Mar 16, 2008 05:41pm
It’s almost Monday soon and time for another great field trip with the NMC Campus Teachers Buzz. Join us at the Museum of Music (MuMu) where Bucky Barkley (no relation!) will demonstrate the use of three fantastic tools he has developed. They are set up for gallery exhibits at MuMu.

The tools, WebMon, Slider, and VidMon provide access to web sites, textures and video for libraries, museums, and elsewhere– and what is really col is that the video screens are not tied to the lands media URL and allow individual avatars to view different videos at the same time!
When: Monday, March 17, 9:00am PST (check local time)
Where : Museum of Music, Infotainment Island, (65, 228, 43)
Bucky will provide demos of
- WebMon - launches web addresses in an external browser, customize the menu for different languages, give supplemental notecards, and much more
- SimpleSlider/Slider - rotate textures, give out items on a per texture basis (notecard, IM, object, texture), and visit web sites per texture.
- VideoPoster/VidMon - per person video, either one (poster), or from a menu (VidMon). What is per-person video? Multiple screens per parcel - each person watching 1 at a time independent of everyone else.

For example, here I had clicked the flag button for The Who and am watching their appearance on the Smothers Brothers show performing “My Generation”- but you could stand next to me and watch a different video on the same screen.
If you are interested in using video, screens, and connecting them to the web, dont miss this session!
