This Week! Challenges & Solutions for Teaching in SL

We have a fantastic, free event for educators going on today and tomorrow on NMC Campus. As first announced last month, Lisa Dawley has arranged for students in her EDTECH 597: Teaching & Learning in Second Life class (Boise State University, EDTECH Island) this past semester to present their findings on the Challenges & Solutions for Teaching in Second Life.

We have scheduled this over two days to accommodate the schedules of the panelists (all of whom are volunteering their time… after the class has ended!). So this will take place:

January 8, 2008, 6:00 PM PST (check for local time) with panelists:

January 9, 2008, 12:00 PM PST (check for local time) with panelists:

All of these sessions will take place at the NMC Conference Center (68,209,22), in the Muriel Cooper Coliseum.

Please note: To access NMC Conference Center, you will need to join the NMC Guests group in world. Also, because we will use Voice Chat for communication, we ask that you thoroughly verify you can at least hear Sl voice and are using a proper headset (no open mics, please?). To offer support, we will have NMC support staff Juaquin Monenntes on hand at two times to help you troubleshoot voice chat issues. You can find Juaquin at the help desk on NMC Conference Center (83, 76, 36) at these dates/times:

Wednesday, January 9, 10:00-11:00 AM PST
