Trick and Treat! Halloween with NMC Teachers Buzz
CDB Barkley (aka Alan Levine) : Nov 1, 2007 02:01pm
We had a fantastic turnout for Monday’s NMC Teachers Buzz Session hosted at the British Gothic Literature Classroom. We owe a big thanks to Desideria Stockton and Eloise Pasteur for making this an interactive and fun experience and also to all of the groovy colleagues who showed up in their best Second Life costumes (there is still something ironic about an avatar wearing a costume).

The crowd lingers at the entrance. “Go inside and explore!” urges Eloise.
I must admit with some travel hangover from 3 weeks in Real Life on another sim (e.g. continent) this dog was too tired to party. I did show up in drag dressed as an ordinary human.

Is that really you, Eloise?
According to Eloise, some 75 people visited that night, some of them staying around for more than 90 minutes.
Apparently, the choice for the costume prize was easily agreed up- to Brett Bjornson for his colorful, Headless But My Skull is my Hand outfit:

Brett’s prize winning costume, scary?
The other prize was for the person who was first able to solve the puzzle of the Gothic Lit haunted house and locate the red cauldron, with this prize going to Calisto Encinal.

Calisto hopes the prize is more than a drink from the cauldron!
Thanks again to all who showed up, and hopefully demonstrated the powerful interaction that happens in this virtual world space, and that a mixture of play and work is productive. If you have not seen this sim, check out the information on the British Gothic Lit Classroom at:
