Larry Pixel habla de España
CDB Barkley (aka Alan Levine) : Oct 17, 2007 05:09pm
We were a little unsure whether the streaming video would work, but yesterday, Larry Pixel (aka Larry Johnson) gave a presentation on Second Life from the UNESCO eLearning Conference in Barcelona that was streamed live into NMC Campus to Red Rocks Theater in Research Park.

Larry shows the audience one of the Second Health videos
How truly flat-worldish it was to watch my NMC colleague, who lives in Texas, present in Spain, as I viewed it from a hotel room in Sydney, Australia. I missed out the last bits of the discussion, which I understood had a mixed reaction from the Barcelona audience on the potential of SL for education.
Thanks to the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) staff who made the video streaming work, and “Marko” who was present at the conference and in SL. I am not sure at this time if the video was recorded (we had requested so). BIf you missed it, we are sorry, but there is another opportunity today as the web 2.0 presentation by Brian Lamb, University of British Columbia, will also be live streamed into Second Life:
When: Wednesday, Oct 17, 6:30am SLT/PST (check for local time)
Where: Red Rocks Amphitheater in NMC’s Research Park (39, 18, 45)
I hope to be tuning in from another hotel room, in Canberra. I’ll be tuning in, Brian!

Are these videos hosted at youtube as well? Otherwise I can’t get them showing. Strange.

Sorry, but there are no videos recorded form this event; images are stills only. The video connection was shaky, and I was on the road and unable to record.
