The Conference Marathon!

For some folks, mainly the conference organizers and workers, the Second Life best Practices in Education Conference was a 24 hour sprint marathon. There were so many excellent sessions and discussions, and they seemed to just zoom on by.

Early reports suggest there were visits bby some 800-900 unique avatars.

Pictured above was Decka Mah aka Lindy McKeown, from Queensland Australia, presenting on Action Learning in Second Life, especially noteworthy because we got to hear first hand from her students who worked on fascinating projects based in Second Life.

The word was that even Philip Linden made a brief appearance.

The sims mostly worked well (a few hiccups with rolling restarts mid-day), and much of the audio streamed in nicely, thanks to amazing support from SLCN — check back on their site in the next week or so as they will have video archives of many of the sessions. But be sure to keep your eye on the conference site for more information on sessions you may have missed.

Again, congratulations to the many people who worked hard to pull off this community driven conference, especially the Fab Four planners:
