Here’s Looking At You

I had some fun today with the Sl colleague pictured here (any guesses? c’mon, its not that difficult).
At the request of AJ Brooks, myself, this person, and Desidera Stockton were invited to give a little Second Life song and dance for the EDUCAUSE CIO constituent group, which has been meeting these past few months in Second Life.
This meeting was set up at the Montclair State University sim. It was a tough audience– not too many questions! AJ started off giving a bit of audios treaming demo, not realizing that streaming just from his computer would not have enough bandwidth for the whole audience (in the prep, I showed him how we could set up a Skype Conference call which he then tried to stream with NiceCast) — you really need to have a streaming audio provider to do this on a group scale.
So we jumped to text, although the four of us stayed chatting to ourselves in Skype, sort of a presenter back channel. Intellagirl talked about her work on Angel Island and as teacher at Ball State, I gave a bit of info on NMC’s efforts, msotly on our plans for an Educators Orientation Island, and Desidera shared a bit on her Lit classes and gave a good pitch for the SL Best Practices in Education Conference coming up Friday.
Well at least the presenters had a good time.
I’ve been doing a lot more experimentation with photography, especially with the keys from Torley Linden’s video on a telephoto and wideangle effect with the camera. The photo above was not cropped- it was a snapshot directly from Second Life. I’d like over ther summer to organize a photo class or club. Any takers?
