Strap On Your Headsets and Meet Me on the Beta Grid…

This is short notice, but on Wednesday May 16, somewhere in a window of 12:30 - 1:00 PM PDT, I am hoping to do a live demo of the voice capabilities of SL in the beta grid. In RL, I am doing this as a session at the University of Mary Washington’s Faculty Academy — and a live working demo of voice on SL might be something that can knock their socks off.

So… if you can spare some cycles to hang out, here’s the plan:

1. First, be sure ahead of time to download the appropriate beta grid client for the Voice Beta (at the time of writing, this is 1.16.0.0)
2. Log in to the beta grid using this client around 12:30 PM PDT/SLT. I will be aiming to log in around 12:40-12:45ish
3. Go to NMC Campus in the beta grid use your map to find the region NMC Campus (128,225,42) - which should land you on our rooftop welcome center (if you’ve never been to NMC Campus, you have to join the “NMC Guests” group to teleport there)
4. Talk.
5. Talk a lot
