Colorado Technical University is holding a grand opening party for their new sim- the party is called "Bonfire" and will take place June 1-2 (from noon on Friday PDT to noon on Saturday). You can find CTU at Colorado Tech (128,128,0).

This is extremely late notice, but we have good reason. Larry was scheduled to deliver an in person keynote presentation for the Conference on Instructional Technologies, the State University of New York's most prominent event on instructional technology in education. The conference, now in it's 16th year is hosted by SUNY Plattsburgh, located in Northern New York. The theme for this year's conference is Technology and the Future of Academe.

Next week, June 6-9 is the NMC's 2007 Summer Conference in Indianapolis. For those at the conference, there will be a good number of sessions of interest to those engaged in Second Life, and as best we can, we are aiming to bring a number of these into SL via video, audio, and a few dual sessions.

For some folks, mainly the conference organizers and workers, the Second Life best Practices in Education Conference was a 24 hour sprint marathon. There were so many excellent sessions and discussions, and they seemed to just zoom on by.
Early reports suggest there were visits bby some 800-900 unique avatars.

Our colleagues at Global Kids have been doing some amazing work this last 15 months on the Teen Grid, and they are planning to do a lot more given some positions they are advertising now.

At the request of AJ Brooks, myself, this person, and Desidera Stockton were invited to give a little Second Life song and dance for the EDUCAUSE CIO constituent group, which has been meeting these past few months in Second Life.

Its re-assuring to hear of success stories in Second Life. A few weeks ago, i gave a quick tour and offered a meeting location yo a faculty at California State Polytechnic University (an NMC Member).
