The artists featured Brian Hitchcock, Filthy Fluno & Poid Mahovlich (that’s me!).

Brain Hitchcock

Brian Fox is a Massachusetts based artist. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1990 with a bachelors degree in Fine Arts. Some of his clients include the NFL, Caesars Palace, Siegfried and Roy, Simon & Schuster, Bantam Doubleday, Dell, Walt Disney and Henson Productions. His work is in the collections of: Curt Schilling, Tom Brady, Charlton Heston, Morgan Freeman, and Larry Lucchino CEO of the Boston Red Sox as well as the Jackie Robinson Museum. His studio is located in Somerset where he has been painting and freelancing for the past 17 years.

In the artist’s own words…

Even though I been makin’ art since my momma been slappin’ me upside the head with a rusty chain, I actually got a BFA from Montserrat College of Art in Massachusetts, where I still livin’. My most recent style of drawing is subconscious, subliminal, gestural, semi-contour messiness with a hint of urban-wisdom, geometry, and whatnot.

The imagery is inspired by a phat mix of SL and RL shizzle. I exhibit my stylings wherever and whenever I can, but primarily in the Boston areas. Most recently I’m being collected by 3 people, but one lady in particular actively pursues my work and has it displayed on the same wall as her original Degas drawings. TRUE DAT!

I be cranking out TONS of new art lately… but only the cream of the crop gets uploaded here to Second Life and I’m told it’s pretty dope.

None of my artwork is enhanced digitally or whatnot. I just shoot them with my digital cam and tweak the brightness and contrast to accurately portray the original work.

MOST IMPORTANT!

I ask you not to LOOK… but to WATCH (this ain’t static art, it’s alive)… then… BUY…. cause da landlord kickin’ me out soon and I ain’t paid rent in months!

Thanks for checkin my stuff out! If you want the REAL shizzle, IM or hook up with me on SL.

‘Duality of Nature’
The memory of the minds eye - We remember events & details in fragmented states sometimes - this series of images represents this varied recall.

The photographic images are created by shooting several layers on a single roll of film using an analogue camera in combination with slide film which has been cross processed. Thus giving them a dual even a tryptic feel.

The images have not been manipulated in PhotoShop. They are what is printed from a standard photographic lab.

‘We don’t see things as they are; we see things as we are’
–Anais Nin

Poid is described as a multi-plexed layered personality, with a vast array of accomplished photographic works which cover many mediums. Her relentless exploration of colour in her day to day mundane surroundings is in stark contrast to the more intimate exploration of layered colour using analogue cameras – her work is fueled by an observation of acute details & textures, which she is not afraid to explore – pushing aside the conventional with her direct representation.

She is outspoken both as an individual as a creative artist – her work speaks of many journeys, with her acute attention to detail and texture serving as yet again to be a window to her mind. She is viciously independently creative and one of the most motivated I have come across without the usual accompanying ego.
