CDB Barkley (aka Alan Levine) : Feb 9, 2007 03:24pm
Sunday, February 11 is the opening of NMConnect, a 3 day event, spread over 4 sims on NMC Campus. Look for installations of of 2D, 3D, video and interactive elements combined to tell stories on the six connected themes of Love, Peace, Beauty, Truth, Chaos, Wisdom.
Artists are busy, as we speak setting up their installations. You will find the schedule unfolding on the NMConnect wiki, where artists will be listing their sessions and providing SLURLs to get to their exhibits.

So at this point, we know on Sunday, there will be:
- GeekPow sessions to be streaming in world with the Art and Energy and Growing Architectures discussions.
- Anthony Fontana will give a short talk about his site-specific comic “Hello n00b”, the history of site-specific comics and their potential as an innovative way to alternatively display comics.
- AldoManutio Abruzzo will host a series of seven, live, one-hour long improvisations of a musical performance entitled “Out of Chaos, Peace.” The concept of the performance lies in taking a seven note harmonic sequence, and using different rhythmic structures and starting notes, to create a different piece for each session. Come for one or stay for them all… or come back on Tuesday and hear them in sequence and meet with him to discuss live improvisational ambient music in Second Life.

This is just the beginning! Connect at NMConnect!
