ZeroG SkyDancers
The only Hyperformalist dance company in either world!
Intrepid Avatar SkyDancers perform arial acrobatic patterns within DanCoyote’s massive, interactive, hyperformalist stage set entitled “ZeroG VIII”.
Avatars “sky dance” within a 400 meter cubic volume, 600 meters above the Learning Sim! The SkyDancers will be dancing while wearing breathtaking 60-meter custom attachments as costumes that at a distance become a living part of the set. Avatars wearing gorgeous flexi costumes will fly through the stage set triggering musical/visual movements that interact with a specially commissioned score written expressly for this season. Each time the SkyDancers fly around the stage they produce a unique variation on the audio and visual environment making each performance a one-of-a-kind experience.
The critically acclaimed ZeroG SkyDance performance company was created by DanCoyote Antonelli (dc@spensley.com) in May 2006 and has since performed two dozen times in Second Life. SkyDancers have appeared live in simulcast real life and Second Life shows at the San Jose Museum of Art ZeroOne ISEA festival and with Frye’s Museum at Seattle’s Bumbershoots Festival.
There are now three generations of SkyDancers who train tirelessly logging in from all over the real life world to be part of the only Hyperformalist dance company in either world!
This cutting edge art experience is produced entirely within Second Life in collaboration with Second Life residents, artists and technologists. While the show has been experienced as video projection in real life museum venues, the ZeroG SkyDance is best experienced within the virtual simulation Second Life where seating is limited to 30 seats per show. SkyDancer shows are always sold-out, reservation-only events.
DanCoyote Antonelli aka DC Spensley is an alumnus of the San Francisco Art Institute with a degree in fine art. The artist is presently seeking graduate level opportunities the US and abroad.

[...] Wednesday night I attended a performance of the ZeroG SkyDancers in Second Life. Hosted by the NMC on their SL Campus, I thought to myself beforehand, “This better be good.” I thought that because my invitation was to the 10PM (EST) performance, and due to SL grid problems, couldn’t get to that performance, but had to attend the 11PM one. I’m usually very brain dead by then. [...]

[...] I’m not a big ballet fan, but this is actually quite amazing. Read more about the performance here, and about the hyperformalist dance troupe here. [...]
