Entire Sim Devoted to the Sculptures of StarAx
NMC Campus saw the Grand Opening of the “Art of Second Life” this past weekend. The new exhibition spans three galleries of the museum - the main gallery; the North Satellite Gallery, located to the right of the main entrance, features the work of Filthy Fluno; and the East Satellite Gallery, located behind the main building, the art of Ehdward Spengler.

The highlight of the opening was a one-day retrospective on the art of StarAx. More than 30 pieces, some as high as 25 meters, filled the NMC Campus 3 sim, which was devoted entirely to this one-of-a-kind event. More than 150 people attended the two-sim event, including RacerX Gullwing, who shot this machinima capturing the showcase.
“StarAx was a great artist and a great friend of mine. It was an honor to be able to offer this tribute to him”
— Tayzia Abattoir
Tayzia Abattoir, the new curator for the Aho Museum on the NMC Campus, contacted owners of StarAx piece across Second Life to assemble the show case. Tayzia and Ravenelle Zugzwang spoke about StarAx in the opening ceremony (see chat transcript).
The “Art of Second Life” will run for the next few months at the Aho. “American Faces,” a show running concurrently with the RL exhibition at the George Eastman House in Rochester New York, also continues in the South Satellite Gallery through December by agreement with the Eastman House.
