Sighting of Second Life at Educause
Danielle Damone (aka Danielle Mirliss) : Oct 11, 2006 10:03pm
There are currently 7,000 people in Dallas, Texas attending the 2006 National Educause conference (I happen to be one of them). Due to a busy conference schedule I have missed many of the events on the NMC campus but have been busy working with the contributors of Slatenight to put together an exciting morning as part of this symposium on October 20th (be sure to check the wiki for more details).
Even though there were no sessions on virtual worlds at the Educause conference (although there was a great gaming presentation - Gaming as Pedagogy: Teaching College Economics via a Video Game) there was a lot of informal talk about it. Surfing through some of the blogs I found a post by Brain Alexander at Educause with a familiar werewolf on the NMC Campus. I have a feeling that future Educause conferences will include sessions focused on the use of virtual worlds (hint, hint, ELI 2007 planning committee!!)

Thanks for the ping!
(I’ve been nicknamed “Brain”, off and on, since I was a kid)
