Text 100: PR Video on Second Life

Text 100 is a large media/ public relations firm (in RL) and recently announced their presence as having an office in SL.
As part of their PR on PR, they have published a nicely done video introduction to Second Life available on YouTube… like NMC’s Seriously Engaging video, these videos, as many have told us, an excellent entrance to help the unfamiliar First Worlders and idea of the potential of SecondLife, prior to an actual visit
When you watch the video, you notice many familiar sets! There are presentations in the NMC Campus Gonick Ampitheater and either the Jacob or Woolsley Classrooms, and a fly by of the scuplutre on the roof of the Welcome Center– these were filmed on the clone of NMC Campus, Learning.
So while the video is aimed more at corporate world, the types of environments shown, interactions (virtual meetings/presentations, groups of people examing objects or art works, project collaboration) that educators should be able to see the connection.

Thanks for the shout out! This machinima clip was fun to produce. We hope it helps businesses see the value of SL as a communications tool.
“Seriously Engaging” sets the machinima bar pretty high. We need more quality videos like these to help introduce new audiences to Second Life in a fun and informative way.

I found this one quite nice, not just done from one company’s point of view, mentioning all/most of the companies and other entities including NMC that people know about that have set up presence in SL:

Wow, Susi that one is wonderful, and I am a big fan now of “The Voice”. Thanks, it’s a keeper.
