Pictured here at the newly redesigned entrance to the Malcom B Brown Library on NMC Campus are two “kiosks” to get your free copies of “newspapers” created in Second Life. These are presented as a series of linked notecards, and each contains teleport links to other places in Second Life.
The Second Life Educators Group (SLED, sign up for their listserv and wiki) is publishing the SLED Picayune which features news, hapenings, teleport links, URLs for anything education related in Second Life. It’s a great way to find out about what other educators are doing in world.
And Slate Magazine is the Second Life Arts and Total Entertainment magazine — it covers more broad topics of things new media-ish in Second Life, but includes education. It is available in world at the kiosk shown here as well as on their web site… see their coverage of the NMC Campus Artists on the Green event from August 12 or articles like Avatars, Power and the Ethics of Freedom in Second Life
