We have a few of these around campus, they are just awesome.

Our Artists on the Green event is on August 12, 2006, when artists and patrons of the arts from all over Second Life will meet on NMC Campus to discuss the challenges of creating and supporting the arts in a virtual world. I went in more than a week early, and there is already a lot of beautiful and compelling art work on display in the open area near the Gonick Amptheater.

There is an awesome event happening on campus a week from Saturday. Just like an art fair in RL, we will have tents, displays, booths set up for Artists on the Green. Artists who craft their work in Second Life will be on hand to talk about creativity, the role of art, issues related to art with us.

We have many of the top names coming, those SL household names like Savi Sieyes, Fade Languish, Starax Statosky, Tremali Lightworker, Androclese Torgeson, Enjah Mysterio, Dancoyote Antonelli, Amalthea Blac, and Vlad Bjornson. There will be demonstrations, and panel discussions, and art is also availble for sale.

I buzzed over to campus today because Prof Belivue told me there was a lot of art, and he was correct. All of the works come with extensive notecards with information about the work and thei artists, and are well worth reading (look for the free t-shirt from Sixth Finger).

C’mon out to the fair next Saturday!

[...] Since I’m on campus today, I thought I would try another movie, this time with my big, scary-fast computer. Here’s a quick look at the Amphitheater on the NMC Campus. And thanks to a tip from CDB Barkely, I was able to remove the Second Life interface from the screen. Hopefully, the audio from the slide show (actually, a movie within a movie) comes through. [...]
