Artists on the Green

On August 12, artists and patrons of the arts from all over Second Life will meet on NMC Campus to discuss the challenges of creating and supporting the arts in a virtual world.
Join art lovers, gallery owners, artists, builders, sculptors, scripters, and performance artists for an afternoon of art, creativity, and conversation as we tease out the essentials of the arts in our first and second lives. How is art identified and defined? What special properties does art have in a virtual world? How are the issues of distribution, attribution, rights management and protection handled? Come explore these and other questions with people who need art — in whatever world they may inhabit.
The afternoon’s events will include a panel discussion about creating, showing, selling, and distributing art in Second Life; a special showcase of artists’ work; an “open studio” with artists creating in real time; and plenty of stimulating conversation. Invited panelists include Savi Sieyes, Fade Languish, Starax Statosky, Tremali Lightworker, Androclese Torgeson, Enjah Mysterio, Dancoyote Antonelli, Amalthea Blac, and Vlad Bjornson.
The event is sponsored by Artists of Second Life, the Arts Council of Second Life, and the New Media Consortium (see all of the stylish invitations).
