Please join us on the NMC's campus in Second Life for a special event taking place simultaneously in both the virtual and actual worlds Friday, June 9, 2006 from 8-10 pm EDT (5-7 pm PDT).
Join the participants at the NMC Summer Conference session participating in a live panel discussion with the designers and builders of the NMC Campus via a live video stream from the session taking place in a unique high-tech amphitheatre in the Intercontinental Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio.

In anticipation of our ramping up to an active summer schedule, we continue to add new features to the NMC Campus Observer. Our latest add-on takes advantage of the social bookmarking tool del.icio.us. This free, web based, social software allows us to quickly add new web resources for those interested in Second Life and learning.

A feature soon to be made available on the NMC Campus is an in-world dispenser that provides a device you can use to get a virtual tour of the campus, descriptions of the main areas, and a way to easily teleport to each one. This will be added to the area new people land (the roof ot the Spohrer Center) and is meant to be a self-guided campus tour.

Today in Second Life, I met up with a hairy, not really scary avatar named Seb Basiat. Okay, don't let his appearance fool you--Seb is quite friendly and outgoing. Actually we did our audio interview yesterday via iChat; we were unable to meet up on Campus because Second Life was down due to upgrades. But we went back for some photos today to complete the session.
