Thanks to some fancy in world camera work and movie editing work by Pierce with Electric Sheep Company, we now have a solid video to promote the NMC Second Life Campus.
Using footage, images, and audio captured from the April 20 NMC Second Life Campus Launch, look for this movie to be shown all over Real Life (and some in Second Life).

This may not be very news worthy, but if you have spent some time (or money) grooming your avatar, you might want to run a snapshot through the My Heritage.com site. This site uses face recognition software to locate close "matches" from its database.
Their trial version, allows you to load your image and see what "celebrities" can match by its recognition algorithms. Following a lead from New World Notes, several Second Life citizens are running their avatars through the system ... more » »

As part of the NMC Second Life Campus opening in April 20, we were pleased to have as guests the folks that designed and built everything you see, the geniuses at the Electric Sheep Company. This group specializes in custom design of Second Life environments for Fortune 500 companies, educational institutions, and other organizations.

Studio NMC is our on-site "show" within the NMC Second Life Campus where we hope to post regular interviews, conducted within Second Life, with the people that use or visit the campus. We don't have "Katie and Matt" in front of the cameras but we sure have colorful guests.
Our first podcast interview was conducted during the April 20, 2006 NMC Second Life Campus launch, where we sat on the bench to chat with "Totally Vavoom":

The April 2006 issue of Discover Magazine features an interesting article about Second Life.
In Brave New World: Virtual Law and Order, Steven Johnson writes of SL citizen Nimrod Yaffle, who had found on a visit to Second Life, his avatar as trapped in a strange place:
